Birch is a 4-5 month old Miniature Schnauzer-Wheaton mix who currently weighs 10lbs. We expect he will be in the 20lbs-ish when full grown. He is a recent rescue from Korean meat markets. He's been in a foster home for the past couple of weeks. He is well loved and is growing like a weed. He is a lover boy who wants to be cuddled, petted and snuggling in next to you. He is potty trained with puppy pads so far which makes transition to outside much easier.

Birch is crate trained and his crate is his safe place. He likes to retreat there to get rest and to gain confidence when new folks or exciting things are happening in the home. He goes on walks but you can tell it's a new experience and he still shows some "shock and awe" when cars back fire or there's loud noises but he keeps going. He gets nervous and then figures it out. As long as his person is confident and doesn't try to baby him, he'll be Mr. Confident in no time. Likewise with some men he is a little more intimidated. If they ignore him and let him come to them, he figures it all out. He likes riding in cars and just lies on the seat. He is not aggressive with his food or treats and he's just learning what toys are so he's not so much into them yet. He's been patient for baths.

Birch is a good option for other dogs. He plays well with dogs and could be a visitor to the dog park or doggy day camp. He could also join another dog in his foster home.

Birch is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids they need to be over the age of 6.
