Patience is a 2 year old JRT mix who weighs 11lbs. He was one of seven we rescued from a hoarding situation. He came into our rescue and has thrived in his foster home. Hear directly from them how he is doing:

Patience is a fabulous dog who has quickly blossomed into a confident, playful, and snuggly guy. He loves our 5-year-old dog and looks to her for guidance and play, so I think he would benefit from being in a house with another friendly dog. He is also a total people-lover and particularly enjoys a morning snuggle, although he doesn't demand constant attention. Patience enjoys playing with small squeaky toys and love playing with my son. He learns quickly, and makes ready use of our dog door. In one week, he has gone from being a dog who didn't know how to walk on leash to one who looks forward to walks and gets what it's all about. He is a little nervous about other dogs while on leash, but I think he will get over that quickly with positive reinforcement and more experience. We do not have a cat, but he has seen a few on our walks and seems uninterested.

While Patience had a couple of accidents on the first two days, he has been accident-free since then. He does not like the crate, and given his background I have decided not to push that for now. I'm letting him lead the way while we build up his confidence.

When we first picked him up, he was quite underweight and was a reluctant eater. However, that has changed now that I mix a small dollop of plain yogurt in with his kibble. Now he happily eats his entire serving in one session. His future fur-ever family may want to keep that up until he reaches his proper weight.

He's going to make his next family so happy!

Patience is obviously good with dogs. He is also cat savvy and could go to a home with cats. He previously lived with them. He is an option to go to a home with kids over the age of 7. We prefer a home that has had a dog in the last 3-5 years and bigger bonus if they currently have a dog as he obviously follows the lead of another dog.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
