Sticky Rice

Shiba Inu
2 years old - Short coat - Male

Sticky Rice is a 2 year old Shiba mix who we rescued off the meat trucks of Korea. He weighs in the 16 lb. range. His foster mom wrote his bio... originally from her point of view, and then from his. How cute!

The California sunshine has made such an impact on this little guy. He is super smart and loves the outdoors. He's adapting to all the newness like a champ and we're thrilled to see him blossom every day.

Need a walking or hiking partner? Look no further. I go on daily 4~5 mile walks/hikes and love to smell the flowers and everything around me. I’m still getting used to life around here, so everything from big balloons to noisy dump trucks is taking some getting used to. I love to smell everything and am experiencing so many things for the first time in my life. I like to take things slowly and my foster folks takes things slowly too. I am kinda shy and startle easily, but once I get to know someone, I enjoy hanging out with them and resting my head on them. I’m crate trained, not a big barker, walk great on a leash. So far, no other dogs on my walks have bothered me, we just say our “hi’s” and move on. I’m ok with kids with dog experience, but I’m not a fan of little ones with sudden movements, jumps, or crazy dance moves.

I’m a good listener and fast learner and already know how to “sit” and “lay down”, but I know I’m capable of SO much more if someone is willing to train me. I would do best with a family who had active dogs in the past and share my curiosity for life.

Sticky Rice is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 10.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
