Rat Terrier
1-2 years old - Short coat - Female

Little Miss Hi-Brow is a 1-2 year old Rat Terrier who represents everything great about the breed. When we met her in the shelter, she trotted right up to us and put her tiny paws on our legs, saying, "Take me, Take me!" We put her in a small room with 5 other dogs and she behaved like a little lady, and looked up at us with those big round eyes, and we knew we had to rescue her! Hi-Brow bonds quickly and is ready to fall in love with her furever-human.

Hi-Brow is a petite gal who weighs less than 10 lbs and is easy to pick up and carry around. She's ready to go on adventures with you, if you want her to! That said, she doesn't need a lot of exercise and is perfectly happy cuddling with you on the couch. She'll put her front paws on your chest and just beg you to stroke her back- it's pretty adorable. When it's time to go for a walk, just say the word and she'll run down the stairs to the door and start her happy dance. Hi-Brow has great leash manners and never pulls, even without a harness on. She'll trot along next to you, fast or slow, and she responds well to commands. She even knows the word "no" and will obey! Hi-Brow is also potty-pad trained and hasn't had an accident since her first day in her foster home.

Hi-Brow is currently fostered with a dog who is easily twice her size, but she's not at all intimidated! She's queen of the castle, and she'll make a little low noise at him if he tries to push her around. This girl can take care of herself!

Hi-Brow would be happy to be someone's one and only pup, or she could join another pup in the house. She may be an option for a dog-savvy cat who doesn't mind the occasional game of chase.

Hi-Brow is only an option for those who have had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children they need to be over the age of 13 and they have to be very dog savvy. Hi-Brow is very responsive to those who are dog savvy. But she is very intuitive and knows right away if someone is nervous around dogs or is unfamiliar with them. She is not going to be a dog who loves everyone. She will love those who love dogs and understands dogs.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
