Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie
3 years old - Medium coat - Female

Silky is a 3 year old Yorkie mix who weighs 5lbs--if that soaking wet. She is absolutely the sweetest, most gentle, loving little girl. She doesn't bark. She is perfectly able to but she doesn't. She is a total velcro dog. if you're sitting down, she wants to be sitting next to you, on your lap or at least touching you. She will follow you around the house but won't be under the feet. She will sleep next to you, usually wanting to sleep at your back.

Silky gets along well with other dogs. She currently is fostered with other dogs. She gets along well with everyone. She hasn't met a dog she doesn't get along with. She also lives with a cat. She did chase the cat once. It was kind of funny. She's about 1/3 of the size of the cat. The minute we yelled her name she stopped and came back with her head down. Who knows what got into her! She hasn't chased the cat again.

Silky hasn't had an accident in her foster home. However, if she isn't taken out regularly then she will have accidents. Silky is fine when her people leave. She just hangs out. She gets excited when they come back. She is the ideal candidate for a home that wants that little shadow dog to go everywhere, be with them all the time and to be loved by them. It doesn't mean they can't work. It doesn't mean they can't go out and do their own thing. But she's a people's dog. She wants to be with her people. It wouldn't be fair to her if her people were gone 10 hours a day. She's an idea dog to go to work with someone.

Silky is only an option for kids who are over the age of 8 due to her size. She has a fabulous temperament but she would easily be hurt by small kids.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
