Shiba Inu
9 months old - Short coat - Male

York is a 9 month old Shiba mix who was rescued from the meat markets in Korea. He weighs 25.4lbs. He is almost full grown. He may max out at 30lbs or so. He's a true Shiba size. He is also very much the puppy spirit. He is playful and full of love. Like his foster mom you may expect him to be standoffish but by the end of the first day he was climbing her lap and offering kisses. His foster mom reports that whoever gets York will be the luckiest home ever...

York did not have any accidents in his foster home. Especially the first few days it's expected to have accidents and yet our boy was awesome! He also is crate trained. He whines and cries when he first goes in at night but then settles in and is great for the whole night.

York is super social. He gets along well with other dogs. He likes to play. We would love to see him join a home with another playful dog or have an opportunity to go to the dog park or doggy day camp. York is an option to take to work if it's a dog friendly place. Like we've discovered with many of our Korean dogs they will chew if not given appropriate toys and will get into trash or other things if given the opportunity.

York is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. York is an option for a family that has children over the age of 7.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
